Rev. Jim Beltman, Honorary Pastor. - Rev. Jim Beltman is a graduate of Hope College and Western Theological Seminary. He has served as pastor in churches in Colorado and California. Jim's responsibility at Community focused on congregational care - in particular, senior citizen pastoral visitation and working with the church leadership connected with this ministry effort. He and his wife, Gayle, are the parents of four adult children and have five grandchildren. Chris Hansen, Director of Daybreak Worship - Chris began his responsibilities at Community in September, 2010. A native of Greenville, Michigan, Chris graduated from Western Michigan University with degrees in Music Education, Music Theory, and Theatrical Arts. He also served as the Saturday night music director for Calvary Church's Saturday Night Live, alongside Ed Dobson, Phil Brower, and Rob Bell. Chris was also an arranger for PraiseCharts from 1999-2003. He currently freelances as a music composer and arranger and does worship and music consulting for churches. In 2007, Chris began Hark Up Music, a non-profit worship and arts music ministry.
Nate Heyboer, Student Ministries Director - Nate began his ministry of Director of Middle School Ministries in 2006 and in 2013 became the Student Ministries Director. Growing up in Zeeland, Nate is familiar with Community, having been a member here as well as serving as a Middle School Intern in 2003. He had previously served as Director of Congregational Life and Youth Ministry at Faith Community Church in Grand Rapids. Currently in the middle of the application process, Nate plans to pursue his M.Div through Grand Rapids Theological Seminary beginning Fall of 2013. Nate and his wife, Chelsea, have three children and reside in Zeeland. Curt Dykema, Director of Breakaway and BreakWater Worship - Curt's interest in music goes back to his earliest years. He first began leading worship for churches in the early 1990s. When his children were old enough to be in the youth groups, Curt began playing in a band for the youth and college ministries at Central Wesleyan Church in Holland. Curt provided special music here at Community on several occasions, and those experiences helped prepare the way for him to accept the offer to join our staff. Curt and his wife, Diane, reside in Zeeland and have four grown children. Rev. Kurt Henry, Pastor of Hospitality and Spiritual Formation - Kurt began his ministry at Community in 2001. His passion is to connect people to the church and get them involved in active ministry and discipleship growth. Kurt grew up in Middleville, Michigan, and graduated from Reformed Bible College in Grand Rapids with a Bachelors degree in Religious Education. He completed his Masters of Divinity degree at Western Theological Seminary in May 2007. Kurt's wife, Tina, is a 7th Grade Special Education teacher at Creekside Middle School. They have three boys, Luke, Micah, and Jace. Kathy Mouw, Director of Children's Ministries - Kathy began her ministry at Community in April 2013. Prior to that, she served at Providence Church for over 8 years, and at Grace Community for 8 years. Her passion is to see kids connect to Jesus, to help families learn God's Word together, and to encourage, bless, and empower volunteers. Kathy was born in central Indiana, grew up in Three Oaks, MI, and graduated from Hope College with a B.A. in Special Education. Her husband, Tim, has been an integral part of her ministry and shares her passions. They have one child, a son, Tyler, who is a student at Hope College. Jim Fortney, Church Administrator - Jim has been on staff as the Administrator since 2002. His duties include business, personnel, and facility management. He is also responsible for communication to the congregation, teaching leadership and stewardship, budget counseling for individuals or families, and to represent Community Reformed Church in the community. Jim’s hobbies include golf, tennis, reading and teaching. Jim and his wife, Doris, have three adult children and seven grandchildren, and have attended Community since 1977. Rev. Irven J. Jungling, Pastor Emeritus - Irv became the founding pastor of Community Reformed Church in 1968 and he served here until 1981. After serving other churches in Iowa and Wisconsin, Irv "retired" in Zeeland in 1995. At that time Community then called him to return to the church staff as our part-time minister of outreach and calling. Rev. Jungling retired again in 2003, and was bestowed with the title "Pastor Emeritus" of Community Reformed. Irv is married to Gladys Jungling and they have four grown children. Dr. Dann A. Stouten, Teaching Pastor - Dann began his ministry at Community in 1997, after having served at Woodhaven Reformed Church in Byron Center, Michigan, for more than 12 years. Dann is a "second-career" pastor, having worked in the automotive industry for 10 years. He worked as a car salesman, regional representative for Volvo, and owned and operated his own dealership. Dann brings a strong vision for reaching out to people who are unchurched or who have wandered away from the church. Dann and his wife, Carol, have three grown daughters and two grandchildren. Rev. Greg TenBrink, Pastor of Congregational Care – Greg responded to God's call to ministry in 2008. He is a second career pastor, having worked in healthcare sales and management for 32 years. Greg most recently served in a church in Holland, and his love is serving the congregation and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He understands the challenges of life and what it means to follow Christ in our culture today. Paul's words to Timothy reflect who Greg is in Christ (1 Timothy 1:15-16). Greg completed studies at Western Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary and was ordained as minister of Word and Sacrament on the Reformed Church in America in March 2012. He and his wife, Janet, live in Holland and are blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. Rev. Trent Walker, Lead Pastor - Trent began his ministry at Community in December 2012, after serving at Harderwyk Ministries in Holland for more than 21 years (youth pastor, church planter and senior pastor). Pastor Trent has a passion for the lost, for those already following Christ, and for the local church to influence both its surrounding community and wherever God leads around the world. Trent spent most of his childhood living in East Grand Rapids, and graduated from Hope College in 1988 with a B.A. in Psychology and Religion. He is a graduate of Western Theological Seminary (M.Div), previously Trent served the CRCNA and has now transferred his credentials to the RCA. He and his wife, Lyn, have been partners in ministry since they began dating, and they have two grown children, Elise and Cameron, who are both students at Colorado Christian University. Cary Hill, Student Ministries Coordinator - Cary grew up at Community, attending the children and student ministries programs and volunteering in these ministries as her passion for serving grew. She graduated from Zeeland Schools and attended Hope College for two semesters in 2011-2012. She served on staff at Grace Adventures Youth Camp in the summer of 2012, where her faith grew immensely and her passion for youth became prominent. Later that year, she began the Ascent program (Grace's student leadership program), from which she graduated in May 2013. From there, Cary became the Head Student Ministries intern at Community. Cary plans to attend Grace Bible College next fall.
